My name is Mercy Muroki. Until recently, I was working as a close advisor to the Minister for Women and Equalities and Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Kemi Badenoch. Before then, I was a presenter on GB News. I also write a column in The Sun.
I have dedicated my academic and professional life to understanding social problems through hard data and evidence. I am a keen observer of how politics plays out and how society and those in power grapple with the problems that face us.
I am not interested in propagating ideas purely because they fit some political or ideological narrative. I am interested in saying what I believe to be true, and having calm and constructive conversations.
I have started this substack as a “safe space” for people who are willing to listen to arguments about issues that are challenging, intellectually complex, and sometimes “politically incorrect”. Sometimes it will be serious, sometimes it will be light. Sometimes you’ll agree with me, other times you may not. But, I hope you will always feel slightly more informed.
